sigh. hols have ended.
weren't really much of holidays anyway.
F1st Weekend
Just normal.
BB, normal stuff.
OM - Did our first round of real shopping at art friend (was too late for this one) and Dover.
Church-ed.
Still, I always see that person. I try to avoid that soul.
she shouldn't stay in my mind.
Cell-ed on Sunday. I seriously hate it when Jon Choy and the rest say I 'act cute'. It was okay for a while but now its getting quite pissing. They use it practically everytime I talk.
Can't remember much~
Monday-
Stupid SANA Course today. Hasn't even ended yet. Wah, like, the first part was damn boring ah. Now must get my family and friends to do some FOTA quiz. Otherwise won't get the badge. All the instructors there were seemingly un enthusiastic except for one main Indian Instructor. Sometimes you'd seriously wonder whether they do it for the joy, or the money?
Tuesday-
My only completely free day. Spent the morning and a bit of the afternoon surfing internet, msn-ing, youtube-ing. Then finished most of my work the rest of the day.
Wednesday-
Hokkay.
So today, let's see. Was supposed to take a tour to plmgss, because that's where the frontline ministries will be working soon, when youth service moves there.
[~Wonder if plmgss if further or nearer to home? Anyhow, both are about two bustops away, can just take a ride.~]
Anyhow, after that, went for an OM meeting. Sorted out tentative roles, went through the skit, made a song? Ooh yeah...song. Must get it done by tomorrow!
Went home and went to pack my bag for the following day's prefect camp. mum got pissed with me cos i was watching "Monster House" at 11.38pm when all my stuff were still laid out on the bed. Cos I was also doing homework in between the packing here and there.
Thursday - Friday
Prefect camp.
Wasn't a very fun one. Alright, let's adress each aspect of the camp now.
Cheering
Cheering sessions were of course, tekan. or pain. They would knock you down, kill you, toss you around like a doll. Oh yeah, and the soul of my voice was stolen in the first hour of the cheering session.
I think the past council did a better job in leading the sessions. You see, they took a nicer approach, and an approach that didn't just knocked us down everytime we did wrong.
The current council justs liked to be harsh, which I don't think works well. Using this method, it really demoralises the people under the harsh tone. I know that the current council has good intentions, but like Martin Luther King Jr. said, "The end doesn't justify the means." Which just goes to show, that even if they want the best out of our cheering, they shouldn't use this method, as it just puts down the AC spirit in us, it makes us feel pressured to cheer, not inspired to cheer, which is what we really should be feeling. inspiration. Needless to say, the method the current council used wasn't as effective as the one the past council used. So to add on to Martin Luther King Jr.'s theory, the 'means' were not only unjustified but were also ineffective.
A better approach would be the past council's method, as they really encouraged us with their smiles, with their exemplary cheering, and a bit of humour every now and then. Also, they refrained from knocking us down everytime we did a mistake, and told us nicely how to improve. I strongly encourage this method, and believe that if this was used throughout the camp, the effects would have been at least twice better.
So if any current councillor is reading this, consider yeah?
Games
The only games in this camp was night games, and the amazing race.
Night games was how Councillor Peter died, so we had to interrogate the other councillors cos Mr Bongard thinks one of the councillors killed Peter. It was quite pissing, cos it seemed like my group liked to be slow and take a slow walk, sit here and there, resulting in us losing out on interviewing Rene, Henry, and Pei Yi. And these three were the most important (of course, we didn't know it back then or we would have interrogated them first), as they were the most suspected in the end.
The case - Pei Yi was the murderer, and stabbed Peter with his pencil because he caught Peter stealing from the Board's treasurery.
We won amazing race, and through it, I realised that Joshua Wu is damn ON about games, Vivo City's top floor is nice and wet, and Henry thinks Hanya is not hot.
um...ok.
~Lol.
Workshops
These were alright I guess.
I think the most beneficial was S.W.A.P, as it lets us analyse the Prefectorial Board.
One of the most intriguing ones was Henry's talk about Public Speaking. I could certainly learn a thing or two from there for my Dr Lee Suan Yew (LSY) Speaker of the Year Award Competition.
end camp
Yepp, basically, I realise the thing I hate most about prefects were the camp. I love prefects out of camp.
I dread them in camps.
Weekend
Alright, Saturday, missed BB cos I had soar throat. Missed OM cause I wanted to stay home and do homework. Nishad said I wouldn't be a loss anyway, cos they were doing shopping.
Main highlight - Going to Poofe (Pool +Cafe).
It's the name of the mini-cafe my 20 yr old+ couzin set up in the area of the pool in his condominium.
Pasta's not bad, hot dog overflowing with onions and whatsnuts, I had to eat it slowly, and still dropped onion bits all over the place. Milkshakes are about the best, really nice. I had a strawberry one.
Swam there, UWC people were there as well, being as crazy as ever. (in a good way)
Saw a cat, rather friendly. It had a collar, don't know what happened to the owner.
Churched. Sermon was not very applicable, but was really funny. pastor B's ok!
Sunday
The best was today. Missed cell cos i had to really finish my work this time.
i-Play!
My group was called deCrux Marines. We lost overall, even to D-squad. People said the umpires pitied their team. We were actually better than them, but they won us by bonus points!? Like wth?
It was still quite fun ah. Even though, we weren't in the semi-finals, we were used as substitutes for other teams, like D-squad.
I liked my team generally, pity VC had to leave halfway for some make-up lesson.
the HELLO you was like, super crazy lah! They trashed everyone, either by skill or by the 'each girl that scores gets a bonus 1 point' rule.
Frankly, everyone thought it was unfair that there were 8 guests in that group, somemore they were all so skilled and got 2X the points! a lot of people were also pissed with a certain someone from that group that day, cos they thought she was attitudin' them and cursing and all.
but guys, that person didn't mean to hurt anyone lah. it's all a big misunderstanding.
so please forgive her yeah?
In conclusion, i-Play was real fun, made a few new friends like VC, and Brenda. Even though we lost, knowing that we tried our best and that it was fun is good enough. Just hope that among the other teams that were pissed with each other, relationships that were strained get mended.
Yep, that's this new post, and please don't mind any typos. Try your best to infer the typo-ed word.
~it's back to school. sigh.
